Clara MacLeod

Creative Director, Voice

Clara is a multifaceted performer with an extensive background in singing, acting, and teaching!

She got her start in music at an early age, pursuing her Royal Conservatory of Music exams for voice, piano, and music theory. At 16, she was accepted to the prestigious UCLA youth musical theatre conservatory programme, and she went on to complete an advanced diploma in musical theatre performance through St. Clair College as well as her Bachelor’s degree in performing arts through Capilano University. Some favourite roles she’s played include Belle in Beauty and the Beast (Selkirk Productions), Lady of the Lake in SPAMALOT! (Open Book Productions), and Dainty June in Gypsy (T&A Productions).

Though she got her start in classical and musical theatre voice, Clara has trained in all genres and is constantly learning new techniques she can pass on to her students. She teaches everything from opera to pop/rock to folk, and she loves providing her students with the knowledge and foundational technique to become a “vocal chameleon” while also finding and celebrating their own unique voice! With almost a decade of teaching music under her belt (two of those years being with SC30), she believes that no matter what your age and background, if you have a passion for music you have everything you need to become a musician.
